TWMS Announces New Head of School

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands United Methodist Church School Board is excited to formally introduce the Head of School for The Woodlands Methodist School (TWMS), Mr. Ken West, effective June 1, 2019.

“When we embarked on this search, we knew that our ideal candidate would possess a strong knowledge of educational best practices for students and also be a demonstrated leader who identifies as an educator while serving as a resource and guide for The Woodlands Methodist School community. Simultaneously, our next Head of School would support our faculty and their professional growth, understand and appreciate the perspectives of our parents, as well as build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people throughout the TWMS community,” stated Dr. Mark Murrell, Chair of The Woodlands United Methodist Church School Board.


Mr. West is currently the Director of Middle School at TWMS, a position he has held since 2017. Before coming to TWMS, Mr. West was Head of School at The Andrew Rodman School, Head of School at The Woodlands Preparatory School and brings over forty-one years of educational experience to TWMS. The Board is confident and enthusiastic about his ability to honor the past and also to move the school forward as a leader in joyful education. “I am excited and humbled to assume the role of Head of School at the Woodlands Methodist School. After serving in other leadership roles here at our school I know we have a great team in place. I look forward to working with our students, parents, and staff to continue in our pursuit of joyful excellence here at TWMS.”
