United by Art, Inspired by Creativity: The John Cooper School Fine Arts Festival 2025
The John Cooper School’s annual Fine Arts Festival lit up campus on April 9 with an unforgettable celebration of creativity, talent, and community. From Pre-K to Upper School, Dragons of all ages came together to share their art, perform on stage, and fill every corner of campus with imagination and joy.
Kicking off at after school in Bayless Courtyard, the event offered something for everyone—live music, student art competitions, a juggling jester, costumed characters, sidewalk chalk, face painting, and hands-on crafts. The energy was electric as students, teachers, and families explored the festival, enjoying everything from giant bubbles to popcorn and tote bag giveaways.
One of the most special parts of the event was the cross-divisional spirit. Upper School students mingled with younger Dragons—some in full costume as characters from musicals—while Middle Schoolers helped younger students make balloon animals and crafts. It was a moment where the entire Cooper community came together, united by the arts.

Performances stretched across campus—from the front porch of the Glenn Performing Arts Center to the Rock building and open-air patios. Students danced, played music, sang in choirs, and showcased their talents on multiple stages. In the Sims Student Center, the Dragon Art Dash gave Lower Schoolers the chance to take home artwork donated by older students—complete with photo ops in front of a celebratory ribbon wall.
Food trucks and a pop-up jewelry shop added even more fun to the mix, but at the heart of it all was Cooper’s commitment to nurturing creativity across all grade levels. The Fine Arts Festival is more than an event—it’s a joyful reminder of what makes the Cooper arts program so special: students inspiring each other, learning from each other, and creating together.
