VIDEO: Race Highlights from 2025 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas in The Woodlands
The 2025 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship Triathlon is taking place in The Woodlands on Saturday, April 26.
Athletes started the morning with a 2.4-mile swim in Lake Woodlands, beginning at North Shore Park and ending in the canal at Town Green Park.
The 112 mile bike course navigated through The Woodlands, then entered into Northern Harris County where athletes traveled two loops on the Hardy Toll Road.
The day ends with a 26.2-mile, three-lap run course taking place entirely within The Woodlands, passing through the famous Hippie Hollow along The Woodlands Waterway, and concluding with a spectacular finish on Waterway Avenue.
Kristian Blummenfelt was the first to cross the finish line at 2025 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas, earning the title of Men’s Champion with a time of 7:24:20, highlighted by the fastest IRONMAN men’s bike split of all time. Swim: 48:34 (1:15/100M), Bike: 3:57:14 (28.39 mi/hr), Run: 2:34:03 (5:52 min/mi).
The three-time IRONMAN Texas Women’s Champion and new women’s IRONMAN record holder, Kat Matthews finished with a time of 8:10:34.
Athletes continue to race this evening until approximately 12:30 a.m. or when the race ends, 17 hours after the last athlete entered the water.
On Sunday, April 27, the IRONMAN Village will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Awards Ceremony & Volunteer Appreciation Banquet will be held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott at 11:30 a.m. The full event schedule can be found here.
As the 2025 triathlon comes to a close, The Woodlands can look forward to hosting IRONMAN Texas for the next five years. This week, IRONMAN, Visit The Woodlands, and The Woodlands Township agreed to a five-year partnership renewal to keep the longstanding Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship triathlon in The Woodlands through 2030.
