Wine & Food Week Returns Celebrating 16 Sweet Years of Curated Culinary Creations
HOUSTON, TX – Good news wine and food lovers. Wine & Food Week is even sweeter this year with several new gourmet experiences. Now in its 16th year, as the “not to be missed” wine and food event in the region, Wine & Food Week returns to The Woodlands for a week-long multi-faceted extravaganza June 1 – 7, 2020 with a few new surprises.
Experience national and international wines at wine tastings, wine dinners, the always sold-out Ladies of the Vine Luncheon, educational seminars, and the H-E-B Wine Walk at Market Street, all culminating in the elaborate Wine Rendezvous Grand Tasting & Chef Showcase. New this year, tastemakers can say ole’ to the Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting, and cheers to Culinary Elevations.
Founder Constance McDerby explained that she and husband, co-founder Clifton wanted to shake things up a bit in this new, bold decade. “We know that this city is always on the search for a taste of something fresh, so we’ve shaken up our week-long line-up up with a few new surprises,” said McDerby.
Expect the festive on Wednesday night, June 3 while sipping a broad range of premium tequilas and noshing on an expansive nacho bar at the Nach-Yo Ordinary Tequila Tasting. On Friday June 5, foodies unite at Culinary Elevations where cheese and cheese dishes are paired with wine and craft beer.
Described as the most comprehensive event from New Orleans to Aspen, Wine & Food Week is a tradition that has spotlighted culinary talent the likes of former White House Chef John Moeller, wine experts like Master of Wine, Tim Hanni, and wine legend and Houstonian, Guy Stout.
“We were the first multi-day event launched in Houston and over the years we’ve worked with an extraordinary cadre of culinary and wine talent. We had such a blast celebrating 15 years last year and are so looking forward to our new offerings in 2020,” said McDerby. For some, it’s a week of finding a new favorite taste and for others it’s the opportunity to try something they’ve never heard of. “For us, Wine & Food Week is always a beloved reunion and we can’t wait to share it with the region,” remarked McDerby.
This year, Wine & Food Week will again host hundreds of wines with well-versed industry representatives including Houston wine icon Guy Stout, one of only 160 Master Sommelier (MS) in the world. Stout is a Certified Wine Educator (CWE), Certified Spirits Specialist (CSS), on the Executive Board of Directors of the Society of Wine Educators, and a member of the Texas Sommelier Association (TSA). Stout is a member of the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association and owner, with wife Kimberly, of Stout Vineyards in the Texas Hill Country AVA, producing Syrah grapes.
