Woodlands Art League Announces Fall Events

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Art League (WAL) has released its 2021 fall lineup of classes, gatherings, workshops, and community events.

WAL announced a full array of classes for all ages at different times of the day throughout the week. Included in this lineup is a new children’s class called Spanish and Clay for Children as well as a class on Acrylic Painting for Teens. Other classes for adults include Drawing and Painting Realistically, Acrylic and Oil Painting, and Exploring Mixed Media classes.

The Art League also host a Live Model Portrait Group, and Open Studio times for artist of all levels using various mediums. Plein Aire Paint Out gatherings are offered monthly. WAL has a variety of artist coming in to hold workshops in the Area. Those artists include among others – Crystal Brown, Susan Hotard, Tom LaRock, and Kathy Fediw.

The artist group will be present at several community events in the upcoming weeks including the Market Street Fall Fine Arts Show on September 25, The Pollinator Festival at Mercer Gardens on October 2, and the National Night Out Community Safety Expo on October 16.

WAL has a continuing exhibition of members art hanging at the South County Community Center where the public is invited to browse the artwork and vote for their favorite art in the People’s Choice Award. The art league also be hosting a juried art show on November 6 and 7 which is a qualifying event for the Lone Star Art Guild Show. The League had an active summer schedule with Plein Aire Paint-outs, children’s summer art programs, workshops in watercolor painting, urban sketching, and painting in mixed media products.

The Woodlands Art League is a volunteer run non-profit group that promotes art in the community, provides educational classes and workshops that provide opportunities for citizens to gather and share art experiences throughout the community.
