Cigars under the Stars 2020 Meals on Wheels
The theme of the Meals on Wheels Montgomery County’s 4th Annual Cigars Under the Stars event is Shanghai Nights.

Attendees will enjoy an entertaining casual evening of live music, complimentary drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a Bourbon and Cigar Bar, signature drinks, and special appetizers prepared by Meals on Wheels Chef John.

Co-Chairs Angel Porter and Natalie Drake are excited to lead the committee in transforming the venue into Shanghai Nights. “It’s a highly sought-after event, with only 250 tickets being sold,” stated Angel Porter. “There are still some sponsorship opportunities and the intimate atmosphere makes for a unique opportunity to mix and mingle with clients and friends.” Tickets for Cigars Under the Stars are $150 and can be purchased online at www.mowmc.org/cigars-under-the-stars. Sponsorships are available by contacting Carrie Hyman at carrie@mowmc.org.

MOWMC’s mission is to foster the dignity and independence of homebound seniors by providing home delivered meals, transportation, and caring connections. Events like Cigars under the Stars raise crucial funds to provide services to the homebound elderly who want to stay independent in their own homes. MOWMC has a waiting list and receives 50 calls a month from seniors seeking assistance.

“The past few weeks have brought a lot of uncertainty for all of us. But one thing we do know for certain is we will continue to do everything we can to help local, homebound seniors. Seniors are reportedly the most at-risk population when it comes to COVID-19. We are taking extra precautions to continue to provide nourishment and security to our seniors. Our goal will always be to keep this vulnerable population safe and nourished,” said Summer Day, CEO and Executive Director of MOWMC.

Presented by Merrill Lynch, other sponsors include Luanne and Steve Bozeman, Insperity, Angela and Scott Porter, the Habib Family, Rivela Plastic Surgery, the Jacqui Group, Mercedes Benz of The Woodlands, Stephanie and Darren Ercolani, Joanne and John Tikkanen, Charissa & Russ Kovin, and Endurance Automation Technologies.
