Summer Reading Program begins May 28 at Montgomery County Memorial Libraries

Save the date for the Montgomery County Memorial Library System (MCMLS) 2024 Summer Reading Program, May 28-July 20. This year’s theme is Adventure Begins At Your Library. All seven of our Branches will host the program which includes individual reading goals and special events to entertain, and encourage reading, all summer long. The reading program and events are free and open to the public. Registration for the reading program begins May 28 and includes incentives to read, including a free book when completing your goal. Readers may set goals by number of books or minutes.

Events include a kickoff at each branch during the first week of Summer Reading, and ongoing programs feature art, crafts, games, special performers such as magicians, and more, throughout the summer.

Participants may sign up for the reading portion through the Reader Zone app, or pick up a printed reading log at their local library beginning May 28. For more information go to www.countylibrary.org.

The MCMLS celebrates all year long through literacy and educational programs for children, teens, and adults, and by the nearly 700,000 titles checked out annually. The MCMLS was founded and began serving local readers in 1948. Since then, it has grown to serve nearly 400,000 Library patrons and cardholders in seven branches County wide. The System also includes a Law Library and the third largest genealogical collection in a Texas Public Library. More information may be found on the Library website at www.countylibrary.org.
