Memorial Hermann delivers a Treat of a Halloween for NICU Families
The staff at The Richard Rivas, MD Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center celebrated some Halloween fun with families. The first Halloween is indeed the sweetest and NICU staff enjoyed creating memorable experiences for patient families by helping them gently dress up their newborn babies in hand-crafted costumes, including a dinosaur, candy corn, lady bug, bumble bee, scarecrow, hula girl, Batman and assorted Disney characters for this fall holiday.
Parent and family bonding with all babies, especially more medically fragile ones like in the NICU, is an essential part of healthy healing and growing. This is a heart-warming example of their NICU journey toward graduation home and a real treat for the eyes.
