Sal Viviano, celebrated for his commanding stage presence and velvety vocals, has graced Broadway stages in City of Angels, The Full Monty, Falsettos, Romance/Romance, and The Life. His extensive career also includes performances with over 250 symphony orchestras worldwide. Now, he returns to Conroe to bring the magic of Broadway to local audiences in an unforgettable evening of show-stopping classics.

The concert, under the baton of CSO’s Music Director Gary Liebst, will showcase a dazzling selection of Broadway’s greatest hits, carefully curated in collaboration with Viviano himself. Sal is a real Broadway star and expert, and I immediately deferred to him for the programming choices,” Liebst said. “I am thrilled that he has cleverly chosen music from all the great songwriting and lyricist writers and duos of Broadway. The concert will include music from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Lerner and Loewe, Merrill and Styne, Bock and Harnick, Frank Loesser, Schonberg and Boublil, among others. The night will truly be ‘The Best of Broadway.’”

The concert holds special significance for the CSO, as Viviano’s connection to the orchestra dates back to a longstanding relationship through Dr. Aline Arnold, a beloved former CSO Executive Director, and her son Tex Arnold, a distinguished musician with deep ties to Broadway. Tex and Viviano’s professional collaborations over the years helped forge a bond between the artist and Conroe’s musical community.

The repertoire promises to transport audiences to the bright lights of Broadway, featuring timeless classics such as Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera and Bring Him Home from Les Misérables.

“Every piece in this concert is a highlight, and I’m certain each audience member will find a favorite,” Liebst said. “I’m especially looking forward to these two pieces, as they are personal favorites of mine.”

For Liebst, the collaboration with CSO has been a joy. “He is so kind and thoughtful, and I couldn’t ask for a more courteous and talented artist to work with,” he said. “It has been an absolute pleasure, and I can’t wait for him to arrive in Conroe.
