September brings fitness, family fun, bubbles and blockbuster laughs to City Place
As the school year gets into full swing, north Houston business and leisure destination, City Place, continues to deliver complimentary, community-minded activations for all ages. Held on and around the The Plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive, this month’s programming calendar ranges from popular fitness sessions and engaging children’s entertainment to creative workshops and an outdoor movie night.
Summer Sendoff
While summer might be coming to a close, Somer Padilla and The Somerlyn Group at COMPASS Real Estate promise a dynamite ending to the season. Pix on The Plaza spotlights the cult classic Napoleon Dynamite (PG, 2004) at 7:45 pm on Saturday, September 20. Starting at 7 pm. Starting at 7, the first 100 guests get a taste of the zany protagonist’s favorite snack – tater tots – courtesy of Torchy’s Tacos The Market/City Place location with additional tots available for purchase.
Reoccurring Programming
Fitness fans can keep their weekend energy high with Band Sculpt classes every Saturday—September 6, 13, 20, and 27—from 9 am to 9:45 am, followed by longtime staple Yoga on The Plaza from 10 am to 11 am. Each one-hour yoga session includes a meditation component.

Soccer Shots continues its weekly Wednesday camps on September 3, 10, 17, and 24. Designed to build both soccer skills and character, sessions for children ages 2–3 take place from 4:30 to 5:10 pm, followed by ages 3–5 from 5:10 to 5:50 pm. Paid registration is required.
Video Game Theater is back on Saturday, September 6 from 12 pm to 2 pm, offering a mobile experience packed with the latest consoles and games for players of all ages and skill levels.
On Sunday, September 7 from 11 am to 1 pm, City Place welcomes Fun Bus—a 35-foot, refurbished school bus turned colorful mobile gym for kids aged 18 months to seven years. Inside, enthusiastic instructors lead games, obstacle courses, and themed activities.
Toddler Time with Miss R takes place twice this month—Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 28—with performances at 9:30 and 10:30 am.
Texas Bubblers make a splash on Saturday, September 27 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, bringing their popular Master Bubble Wrangler Station and mesmerizing oversized bubbles to The Plaza.
Young Audiences of Houston Programming
On Thursdays—September 4, 11, 18, and 25—Young Audiences of Houston presents Dance and Movement from 5:30 to 6:15 pm. The lively and inclusive session for all ages promotes physical coordination and self-expression through rhythm and choreography.
On Sunday, September 14 from 10 am to 12 pm, Painting with Watercolor Pencils invites participants to explore grid drawing, color blending, and creative techniques inspired by portraits, landscapes, and still life.

Rounding out the month, a Martial Arts Workshop on Sunday, September 21 from 10 am to 12 pm inspires movement, discipline, and confidence for kids through interactive demonstrations.
