The following is a press release “Swift Response Leads to Arrest of Burglary Suspect at Local Autism School” received on March 24, 2026 at 3:15 p.m. from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office successfully apprehended a suspect attempting to burglarize the Thrive Center for Success Autism School.
At approximately 2:45 AM, an employee of the Thrive Center for Success, located in the 16000 block of Dobbin Huffsmith Rd., contacted law enforcement after observing a live surveillance feed of a suspect breaking into the building housing the property’s water supply pump.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office District 4 Patrol Deputies responded, arriving on the scene within just three minutes. Upon their arrival, the suspect attempted to flee on foot. However, due to the rapid establishment of a perimeter by supporting units, the suspect was quickly detained.
The suspect has been identified as [39-year-old man]. Following an investigation by on-call Property Crimes Unit Detectives, [the suspect] was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. He currently faces charges of Burglary of a Building and Evading Arrest/Detention.
