Let It Grow! New Community Seed Library at The Woodlands Township’s Townhall
Ready to dig in? The Woodlands Township is inviting residents to grow something great with the launch of its brand-new Seed Library, now open inside the lobby of The Woodlands Township Townhall located at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., 77381.
This free, self-serve community resource makes it easy and fun to start your own garden, whether you’re planting your very first seeds or adding them to a thriving backyard oasis. You can take seeds home, grow them and bring seeds back to share with neighbors.
How It Works
Residents are invited to:
- Choose up to three seed packets per visit (selection varies seasonally).
- Grow plants at home using sunlight, soil and water.
- Save seeds from their harvest and donate extras back to the library.
The Seed Library is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and all seeds are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Why a Seed Library?
Because good things grow when communities come together. This program helps residents:
- Grow fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers right at home.
- Support pollinators like bees and butterflies.
- Enjoy healthier, homegrown food.
- Connect with neighbors and local gardening know-how.
Created by the Township’s Environmental Services Department with help from local gardeners and seed savers, the Seed Library is rooted in sustainability, education and community spirit.
Got Extra Seeds? Donate Them!
If your garden produces more than you need, consider giving back. Donations of dry, securely packaged seeds (with a completed donation form) are welcome at the library. The program especially loves native plants, edible crops and pollinator-friendly varieties.
Please note: The Seed Library does not accept hybrid or GMO seeds, seeds from grocery store produce, invasive species, patented seeds or those protected under the Plant Variety Protection Act. Priority is given to native plants, edible crops and pollinator-friendly varieties.
