Suspicious Uber Eats package investigation leads to Felony Drug Arrest
In August, the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office was contacted by an Uber driver regarding a suspicious package the driver had been asked to deliver.
Deputies investigated the package and discovered it contained methamphetamine. The discovery led to a criminal investigation, and investigators later obtained an arrest warrant for 39-year-old Jeremy Pierson of New Caney.
Deputies subsequently located Pierson at a property near Cutler Road in New Caney and took him into custody. During the arrest, deputies also located additional methamphetamine. Pierson has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, a Second Degree Felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Third Degree Felony; he was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
“This case is a great example of why we continue to remind the public that if you see something, say something,” Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden said. “This driver recognized that something did not seem right and made the decision to contact law enforcement. That call allowed our deputies to investigate further and ultimately led to an arrest and additional narcotics being taken off the street.”
All persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
