Houston Symphony’s Classical Mystery Tour celebrated the Music of The Beatles
The Houston Symphony’s Classical Mystery Tour rocked The Pavilion’s Main Stage on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. Sponsored by Huntsman, the performance featured more than two dozen Beatles tunes performed exactly as they were originally recorded.

The four musicians in Classical Mystery Tour look and sound just like The Beatles, but Classical Mystery Tour is more than just a rock concert. Attendees heard “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section, experienced the beauty of “Yesterday” with an acoustic guitar and string quartet, enjoyed the classical/rock blend on “I Am the Walrus” and relish the crescendos on “A Day in the Life.” From early Beatles music on through the solo years, the Classical Mystery Tour is the best of The Beatles—but performed live in concert with a symphony orchestra.
During pre-concert activities, guests were encouraged to enjoy an afternoon musical treat at the Chamberfest pop-up concert in the North Plaza. Students who participated in the week-long chamber music intensive at The Pavilion put on a special performance showcasing what they learned during their daily workshops. Other pre-performance activities in the North Plaza included a special art project and sponsor activations.
Mezzanine and lawn seating are free for all performing arts events.
