The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke.

Did you know that cardiovascular disease occurs every 39 seconds and is the No. 1 killer of all Americans? Heart disease also kills more women than all forms of cancer combined. And congenital cardiovascular defects are the most common cause of infant death from birth defects. When you participate in a Heart Walk, you join more than a million people in 300+ cities across America in taking a stand against heart disease and helping save lives.

Throughout the past century, the American Heart Association has recognized that we’re all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way, and we must change that. With your help, the American Heart Association can keep working to ensure all people can enjoy longer, healthier lives. Funds raised at the Montomery County Heart Walk will go towards more research, more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more medical breakthroughs, and more champions for equitable health.
