Collins Chorale to Perform at TMEA Clinic/Convention
CONROE, TX – Conroe ISD is proud to share that the Collins Chorale from Collins Intermediate School has been selected to perform at the 2023 Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Clinic/Convention Thursday, February 9, in San Antonio.
Under the direction of Connie Horton, the Collins Chorale was one of only three individual school choirs chosen to perform in the elementary concerts. Ensembles are selected from hundreds of applicants and those invited by the TMEA demonstrate the highest level of achievement in music education.
The last time Collins was chosen to perform at the convention was 1992. Last year, the Mitchell Intermediate Mixed Choir represented the District.
TMEA is an association of more than 13,000 school music educators and is dedicated to promoting excellence in music education. The 2022 event drew more than 26,000 attendees, making it the largest music educators convention in the nation. Go to www.tmea.org for more information.
