Community Tree Planting 2021 The Woodlands
The Woodlands Township’s annual Community Tree Planting has been reformatted to a drive-through event for 2021.

To maintain COVID-19 safety, this year’s event has been reformatted. Residents will drive through The Woodlands High School parking lot and receive up to two (2) trees in three-gallon pots. Trees may be planted wherever the resident wishes, at home or in green spaces in The Woodlands.

A total of 1,000 trees are available in the following varieties: Loblolly Pine, Shumard Oak, Bald Cypress, Pecan, Swamp Chestnut Oak and Water Hickory. Supplies are limited, so residents must register in advance for their free trees at www.thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/treeplanting

Residents are asked to share the location of their newly planted trees and report back on the health of their trees one year later. Data collected from these reports supports the tracking of reforestation efforts throughout the community. Resources will be available to help in the successful planting and care of the trees.

Community Tree Planting is made possible through a partnership with The Woodlands G.R.E.E.N., Chevron Phillips, and Trees for Houston. More than 13,000 native trees have been planted since the program began in 2015.
