Conroe Motorcycle Officer struck by pickup and transported to hospital
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Conroe Police Traffic and Motor Units responded to a fatal crash in the 500 block of N. IH 45.
While en route to the scene, Motor Unit Officer J. Dugas was traveling westbound in the 1200 block of N. Loop 336 W with emergency lights and siren activated, following other emergency units through the intersection of N. Loop 336 W and the IH 45 service road. At that intersection, Officer Dugas was struck by a white Ford F-150 pickup, causing his motorcycle to collide with a third vehicle. The impact threw Officer Dugas from his motorcycle.
Despite his injuries, Officer Dugas was able to call for assistance. Conroe Police Officers, the Conroe Fire Department, and Montgomery County EMS immediately responded and provided aid. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The drivers of the other two vehicles remained at the scene and rendered aid to Officer Dugas. No additional injuries were reported. The crash remains under investigation, and the identities of the other involved drivers will not be released at this time.
The Conroe Police Department is extremely thankful that Officer Dugas’ injuries are not life-threatening and requests that the community keep Officer Dugas and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
