Upon arrival, officers learned that a trench collapse had occurred while a crew with Engitex Construction was installing underground piping. Tragically, the second individual, identified as Jose Arevalo, 44 of Houston, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was transported to the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.

Detectives with the Conroe Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, along with Crime Scene Investigators, responded to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation. At this time, there is no evidence of foul play, and the incident appears to be a tragic accident.
