Conroe Police Officers respond to a major crash involving pick-up truck on fire

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, around 5:35 p.m., Conroe Police Officers responded to a major crash involving a single pick-up truck in the 300 block of North Porter Road. The caller advised that the pick-up truck was on fire due to the heavy collision damage. Conroe PD patrol officers were first on-scene and attempted rescue followed by the arrival of Conroe Fire, and EMS shortly after. First responders made diligent attempts to rescue and provide aid to the driver, however it was too late and the driver did not survive the crash. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by MCHD-EMS supervision.

Conroe Police Traffic Reconstruction Unit officers were summoned to the scene and began their investigation into the crash. The preliminary investigation revealed that the pick-up truck was traveling southbound in the right lane of the 300 block of North Porter Road. As the roadway curves, the pick-up truck partially left the roadway before colliding into a concrete barrier of a small bridge in this area. The pick-up truck suffered catastrophic front-end damage before being engulfed in flames.

This incident is still under investigation, and an autopsy was ordered by the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office. The identity of the deceased is still pending and will not be released at this time.
