Conroe Welcomes New Mayor and Councilmembers
CONROE, TX – Conroe Councilman Jody Czajkoski will take the seat as the next mayor of Conroe joined by Councilman Elect Todd Yancey and Councilman Elect Curt Maddux. A runoff election between former Councilwoman Marsha Porter and Kelley Inman will occur sometime in December but a date has not yet been finalized.
“Today represents a new day for the City of Conroe,” said Mayor Pro Tem Duke Coon. “Congratulations to Mayor Elect Czajkoski, Councilman Elect Yancey, and Councilman Elect Maddux on their hard-fought victories.”
Mayor Pro Tem Coon went on to say, “I also want to congratulate Marsha Porter and Kelley Inman for making the runoff in Position 5 and especially all the candidates who sacrificed so much of their time and energy to serve our great city. The candidates held themselves to the highest of standards and represented what was best in all of us through this election process. Abraham Lincoln once said ‘Elections belong to the people’ and I believe that with all my heart.”
The City of Conroe will swear in its newest council members and Mayor later in November. The exact date will be decided in the upcoming week.
