DRC-MC Cancels Mediation Trainings until June

By  |

Conroe, TX (March 25, 2020) – The Dispute Resolution Center of Montgomery County, Inc. (DRC-MC) has made the difficult decision to cancel the Mediation Trainings for March and April. This includes the Family Mediation March 25-27 and the 40 Hour General Mediation scheduled for April 1-3 & 8-9, 2020. The DRC-MC is a non-profit, volunteer organization that provides mediation and conflict resolution training to residents, businesses, agencies and the courts.

The DRC-MC is optimistic that the 40 Hour General Mediation Training for June 11-12 & 17-19 will be offered as planned and that the Family Mediation Training will be rescheduled this year. Training classes at the DRC-MC meet statutory and administrative requirements and are taught by experienced experts in their fields and in mediation. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Continuing Education Units (CEU) are available upon completion of the trainings. Since space in each of the DRC-MC’s classes is limited, register as soon as possible for any or all of the training classes at www. resolution-center.org/training-schedule/ or contact Amber Gong amber.gong@mctx.org or 936-760-6914 ext. 3.

In compliance with the county’s directives and to minimize the risk of COVID-19 to our clients, volunteers and staff the DRC-MC is implementing a modified operations plan until further notice.

  • DRC-MC offices will be closed to the public
  • Mediations will be conducted by phone or online (Zoom)
  • DRC-MC employees will work remotely most of the time
  • DRC-MC phones will be answered, and email correspondence will be returned as usual.
  • The public can still request mediations at https://resolution-center.org/sign-up/  or call (936) 760-6914, Ext. 2, during regular business hours.

The Dispute Resolution Center of MontgomeryCounty, Inc. (DRC-MC) is in Downtown Conroe at 301 N. Thompson Street, Suite 106, across the street from the Courthouse and is celebrating 30 years of resolving conflicts. The Montgomery County Commissioners Court and Montgomery County Bar Association established the nonprofit organization in 1988 and the DRC-MC has been helping people with difficult conversations since that time.
