Enjoy Local Public Art, Win Prizes with TWAC Art Bench Scavenger Hunt

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Looking for something fun to do over the holidays? The Woodlands Arts Council (TWAC) has created an Art Bench Scavenger Hunt, where participants can win prizes while experiencing the beauty of The Woodlands and its public art. Enjoy this self-paced, outdoor, family friendly activity while taking in some of the interesting, thought-provoking, and fun art benches around The Woodlands. This socially distanced event encourages art appreciation and engagement.

Did you know there are 24 unique public art benches located along The Woodlands Waterway and on the shores of Lake Woodlands in Hughes Landing? The Art Bench Hunt will lead you on a journey to find 11 of those art benches, and you can look for more as you go!

Solve the clues, post a photo with the hashtag #ArtBenchHunt and tag @TheWoodlandsArtsCouncil to win fabulous prizes. The event ends December 31, 2020. Follow these steps to join the hunt:

  1. Download the Trolley App, RIDE SYSTEMS, here.
  2. Park at The Woodlands Mall near PF Changs Restaurant and Barnes & Noble Bookstore.
  3. Walk around the Mall Basin area near the water circle and begin the #ArtBenchHunt.
  4. Solve the first clue and add your answers in the form.
  5. Catch the Trolley to Waterway Square and follow the clues.
  6. Take photos. Be creative!
  7. Post to Facebook or Instagram. Use #ArtBenchHunt and TAG @TheWoodlandsArtsCouncil.
  8. Winners with a completed form and photos posted by December 31, 2020 are entered to win fabulous prizes. Prizes will be awarded December 31, 2020.

Another ongoing event produced by TWAC, The 2020 Virtual Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home. The festival will continue through December 31 to give art lovers and gift givers the opportunity to shop for beautiful art pieces including jewelry, paintings, drawings, apparel and accessories, unique pens and journals, photography, clay and wood works and mixed media. More than 80 juried artists are participating in the Festival Marketplace, where you can engage with the artists directly by ZOOM call, watch their videos, visit their social media and websites, and purchase their art in one easy process. 2020 Virtual Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival

The Woodlands Arts Council is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that provides regional cultural and educational enrichment opportunities that encourage, support, and promote the visual and performing arts of residents of Montgomery County and the neighboring region.
