Greater Conroe Arts Festival and Film Festival to be held in Downtown Conroe
The Greater Conroe Arts Alliance is made up of 21 Arts organizations in Montgomery County, Texas, who represent the Performance, Visual, Literary, and Cultural Arts. Our annual Festival on March 29th, is committed to providing an outstanding family event involving The Arts by Local Artists, Texas Artists, and beyond.
Some of the Festival highlights include 10 minute plays every 30 minutes on stage at the Owen Theatre and Conroe Art League with CAL National Art Show on display in the Gallery.
This year, the festival will feature two stages showcasing an incredible lineup of performances. Set to perform on Founders stage are Judi Lanza & Friends featuring Mary McCoy, Conroe Symphony Winds, Jazz Connection, LLWorship, Daybreak Chorus, Montgomery County Choral Society, Ian & Robben Montez singing & playing a collection of 50’s songs featuring Elvis, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry & Eddie Cochran.
The Texas Stage will feature the Woodlands High School Mariachi Rojo y Verde, Jazz 1485 from Caney Creek High School, Grace Pointe Dance Company, Caney Creek Starlettes an Panteras En Fuego. Plus, experience dynamic theatrical performances by The Players Theatre Company (Songs from Tuck Everlasting & Little Shop of Horrors), Stage Right of Texas (scenes from Shakespeare in Love), Christian Youth Theater (songs from You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown & The Sound of Music), & more.
The Festival includes Fine Art Vendors, Museum displays & activities, Watch award winning Artists painting, Plein Air Artists painting scenes from the festival and downtown Conroe. All paintings painted at the Festival will be donated to the Festival Auction to take place at 3:00 at Founders Stage. Please come buy some AMAZING ART at our Festival Auction, and check our Fine Art & Fine Craft Vendors and Market Vendors! Participate in a Photography Contest from 10:00-1:00 of Festival happenings by Indie Films, Jr. High and High School Theatre Contest at the Owen Theatre, watch Demonstrations by Pottery Artist Carol Berger, Bronze Sculpture Artist Craig Campobella, Cartoonist and Artist Joe Kolb, Sculpture Garden photo ops by award winning Artists Bob Heintzelman & Randall Cade.
In addition, participate in Pottery Bowl making with Artist Carol Roach, watch Street Chalk Artists and a participate in a Community Chalk Art Activity with CRATE. The Festival Kids Art Village Highlights include Lego Build for all ages, Kids Art take home projects, kid’s Mural, Music petting zoo with The Art of Music Studio, Prop Petting Zoo by Christian Youth Theater, Living Statues, Dance Gym, Costume Character photo ops, Main Street Market, Food Trucks, & more!
And don’t forget to buy a raffle tickets for a change to win over $3,000 in prizes in Theatre, Symphony, and Concert tickets. Plus Mo.Co. History books, poem books, beautiful wall hanging quilts made by Golden Needles Quilt Guild, Downtown Merchant Gifts and Gift Certificates and much more.
