Emergency Shelters and Cooling Centers open in Montgomery County

UPDATE July 13 2:55pm: The City of Conroe opened a Cooling Center at the Candy Cane Park Senior Center, 1202 Candy Cane Ln, Conroe, TX 77301 that will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

UPDATED July 11 8AM: Montgomery County Judge Keough shared additional Cooling Centers are open on Thursday, July 11: “Several of our county libraries have had power restored today. So starting tomorrow July 11th the following locations will open as cooling centers from 7a-7p. These centers are for cooling only and will not have food supplies on hand.”

• Conroe Central Library: 104 I-45 North, Conroe, Texas 77301
• West Branch Library: 202 Bessie Price Owen Dr., Montgomery, Texas 77356
• South County Branch: 2101 Lake Robbins Dr., The Woodlands, Texas 77380

Additionally the Cooling Center at the North Montgomery County Community Center at 600 Gerald Street will remain open from 7a-7p.

UPDATE JULY 9: On Tuesday, July 9 at 6:09pm The Woodlands Township shared an update with a list of Emergency Shelters.

Both Montgomery and Harris counties have opened shelters to assist those who may have been displaced due to the storm. Currently, the following shelters are open:

On Tuesday, July 9 at 10:15am Montgomery County Judge Keough shared an additional Emergency Shelter is open:

JULY 9: On Tuesday, July 9 at 8:16am City of Conroe shared an updated list of Emergency Shelters currently open:

• Magnolia: West County Community Development Center – 31355 Friendship Drive Magnolia 77355 (150 capacity)
• Montgomery: Lone Star Community Center – 2500 Lone Star Pkwy, Montgomery 77356 (150 capacity)
• East County: East Montgomery County Community Development Center – 16401 1st St. 77372 (150 capacity)
• East County: Salvation Army – 304 Avenue E Conroe 77301
• East County: Over under Fellowship – 600 S. Frazier St. Conroe 77301

UPDATE JULY 8: The Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management shared that the following Shelters are open as of Monday, July 8 at 6:23pm:

• Montgomery: Lone Star Community Center, 2500 Lone Star Pkwy, Montgomery 77356
• Magnolia: West County Community Development Center, 31355 Friendship Drive, Magnolia 77355

Additional shelter locations have been identified and will open as MCOHSEM can get them online.
