HOUSTON, TX – The coronavirus is causing harm to small businesses in the greater Houston area and across the country. In an effort to combat this impact, the federal government recently approved the Payroll Protection Program, but there are additional resources to help small businesses get through these difficult times.

“The Lone Star College Small Business Development Center offers free webinars and online training to help you manage your business,” said Miguel Lopez, LSC SBDC director. “These webinars are delivered by industry experts and designed to give you solutions, tips and recommendations you can start using immediately.”

Preparing For SBA Disaster Relief Loans is just one of many free webinars available. This timely presentation will show you how to apply for an SBA Disaster Relief Loan and how to fill out important documents to expedite the loan process.

The U.S. Small Business Administration reported United States small businesses employed 58.9 million people, or 47.8% of the private workforce in 2018, the most recent data available. The report also noted small businesses created 1.9 million net jobs in 2018.

“Lone Star College is proud to be a member of the community and grateful to be able to offer this important resource,” said Lopez.
