The joy of the season will begin with Santa’s Morning Jingle on Saturday, December 10th from 9:00am to 2:00pm. During this special event, children can visit with Santa and receive a complimentary professional photo in an environment that is familiar and inviting. Families can also enjoy meet and greet opportunities with Frosty the Snowman while enjoying live holiday music, snow play, sensory bins, and a flavorful hot chocolate, espresso, and smoothie bar. Throughout the day, holiday storytime presents classics such as The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore, Dream Snow by Eric Carle, If You Take a Mouse to the Movies by Laura Numeroff, Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson, and Oh, What a Christmas! by Michael Garland.

“Santa’s Morning Jingle is designed especially for young children, who can easily feel overwhelmed in larger settings,” stated Angela Colton, the museum’s Executive Director. “Our environment and activities encourage playful interaction, while creating warm memories of the holiday season.”

Advance tickets for Santa’s Morning Jingle are strongly encouraged and can be found on the museum’s website at WoodlandsChildrensMuseum.org. Admission for this one-day event is $20 for children ages 1 to 13 and $10 for adults and children under one.

The celebration continues on Wednesday, December 14th and Saturday, December 17th with Mrs. Claus’ Gingerbread House Workshops. The time-honored tradition of creating a gingerbread house with candies and icing will be available for families along with a special visit from Mrs. Claus. Special holiday storytime readings of Gingerbread Christmas by Jan Brett and Gingerbread Mouse by Katy Bratun will also take place on stage. In the art bar, children can lace-up a gingerbread man and personalize their project to take home. The Gingerbread House Workshop is $5 with museum admission.

We usher out the holiday season with our annual High Noon Countdown on Saturday, December 31st. As we finish 2022 and welcome 2023, children can dance along with live music from Tom’s Fun Band and a horn-blowing count down to a classic balloon drop. Enjoy face painting and create a one-of-a-kind new year’s hat in the art bar. Three sessions are available throughout the day at 9:00am – 10:30am, 11:30am – 1:00pm, and 2:00pm – 3:30pm. Special event pricing is $10 for ages 1 and over. Infants under 1 are free. This event is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
