MCSO and First Responders participate in 7th Annual Sharing is Caring Food Drive

By  |

On October 28, 2023, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with several other First Responding agencies, participated in the Seventh Annual Sharing is Caring Food Drive to benefit our local food bank, Mission Northeast. Mission Northeast serves the Montgomery County area, including 11 surrounding zip codes. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude for all the heartfelt donations from our Community Partners involved with the “Sharing is Caring Food Drive” as well as every single Person and Organization that made this a great success.

The event garnered generous donations, including approximately 8579 pounds (4.2 Tons) of food, hygiene products, and household supplies, with more still to be collected in the coming weeks. In addition, the event collected a total of $ 23,463.79, which will all go directly to Mission Northeast. This will vastly assist the Mission as they serve so many in need within our local community, especially as the holidays are quickly approaching.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to all the agencies that actively participated in this event, along with the many volunteers from our community who assisted with sorting and transporting the items collected. We would also like to thank the more than thirty vendors who donated to help support our volunteers. Partners from our local school districts (NCISD & SISD) students and staff, boy scouts, girl scouts, Woodforest National Bank, and The Taylor Organization all helped to make this event a success.

Our local community, from seniors to children, gave from their hearts to demonstrate, “They all have the courage to care.”
