Montgomery County Sheriff Deputies arrest Two for Attempted Theft of an ATM

By  |

On April 28, 2023, at around 3:05 a.m., Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to an ATM alarm for the Bank of America located at 4085 College Park Drive. While en route, Deputies were informed that employees of the alarm company were viewing a live surveillance feed of two males attempting to break into the ATM using different tools. The employees also provided a detailed description of the males.

Deputies arrived at the bank and discovered the ATM had damage which consisted of pry and saw marks, and the suspects had already left the immediate area. A perimeter was set up at a nearby wooded area, where one male was quickly found lying in the brush to avoid detection. After a brief search in the wooded area with assistance from one of our K9 Units, the second male was found. During the detention of the second male, he resisted Deputies and was bitten by the canine.

The suspects, who matched the descriptions provided by the alarm company, were identified as 61-year-old Ricky Garcia and 37-year-old Lazaro Garcia. They were transported to the Montgomery County Jail, where they were charged with Felony Theft.
