Montgomery County Sheriff Investigates Fatal Shooting in Spring

On December 14, 2021 at about 6:40 p.m., Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 300 block of Valleywood Drive in Spring, Texas in response to an assault with a firearm. Upon arrival, Deputies found a 27-year-old Hispanic male with an apparent gunshot wound in the parking lot. Deputies immediately began lifesaving measures until EMS personnel arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. Despite their best efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries at 7:48 p.m. Deputies also located and detained a possible suspect at the scene.

The initial investigation suggested the incident was the result of an altercation between the victim and suspect, who were former roommates. When the altercation turned physical, the suspect reportedly retrieved a pistol from his vehicle, and shot the victim in the parking lot. Numerous witnesses observed the incident, and are being interviewed by Detectives.

This unfortunate series of events is still under active investigation by Detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time, pending notification of his next of kin. The suspect’s identity will be released pending formal charges.
