Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigates Shooting in Magnolia
On May 16, 2026, Deputies with the West Patrol Command, responded to the 12000 block of Noble Wood Drive after receiving information that a person with a gunshot wound had arrived at a hospital in The Woodlands.
Information obtained from the victim, along with 911 call information, indicated that a disturbance escalated into an aggravated assault near the intersection of Noble Wood Drive and Lazy Oak Creek Drive.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies, along with Montgomery County Constable’s Office Precinct 5 deputies, responded to the area and identified the location of the shooting. Multiple individuals were detained at the scene.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Investigators responded to conduct their investigation. Detectives determined that the incident stemmed from an attempted sale of THC vape cartridges, which escalated into an exchange of gunfire.
During the incident, numerous homes in the area were struck by gunfire. Fortunately, no residents were injured. The only reported injury was to the initial victim who was involved in the altercation and sale. She was treated at a local hospital.
Investigators confirmed this was a targeted incident involving specific individuals. Through the coordinated efforts of responding deputies and detectives, the two suspects responsible for this reckless and dangerous act were identified and taken into custody that same night. [The suspect] 19-year-old from Magnolia, was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Deadly Conduct. He is currently in the Montgomery County Jail. The second suspect is a juvenile, that suspect was also arrested and transported the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention facility.
