The Hello Woodlands Nonprofit of the Month is brought to you by Randy Lovelace of Paragon Independent Insurance Agencies and highlights a local nonprofit organization that serves the Montgomery County community.
The nonprofit of the month is Executive Women’s Alliance, a local 501c3 nonprofit executive women’s organization that provides personal and professional development for its members alongside educational outreach programs for young women through EWA’s Women of Vision mentorship program. Scholarships are provided to the young women in the Women of Vision program upon graduation, to attend institutions of higher education for purposes of facilitating their entry into business and/or professional careers. Read our interview below with Kristen Bates, Immediate Past President of Executive Women’s Alliance.

Tell us about your organization, Executive Women’s Alliance. What is the organization’s story? How did the organization start? What is your mission and why?
For nearly two decades, the Executive Women’s Alliance (EWA) has been building meaningful connections between accomplished professionals and the next generation of women leaders. Through mentorship, education, and community engagement, EWA creates opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom and the boardroom, helping young women develop the confidence and skills to succeed.
At the heart of EWA’s mission is a commitment to cultivating future female leaders. We envision a future where young women are empowered with the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to excel in their chosen fields. By fostering a supportive network of mentors, peers, and role models, EWA nurtures personal and professional growth, inspiring the next generation to lead with confidence, purpose, and impact.
Who and where do you serve? What programs and services do you offer?
EWA is shaping a stronger future for women across Montgomery County by investing in leadership, mentorship, and education. Guided by the belief that empowered women strengthen families, businesses, and communities, EWA provides opportunities that help women thrive at every stage of life – from high school students exploring their futures to accomplished professionals advancing their careers.
EWA’s unique dual-program approach allows the organization to support women throughout their leadership journey. Professional women benefit from membership opportunities that include monthly networking events, leadership development, career enhancement programs, and meaningful connections with peers who share a commitment to personal and professional growth.
For the next generation of leaders, EWA’s signature Women of Vision program provides a transformative three-year mentorship experience for students at Conroe High School and Oak Ridge High School. Meeting monthly during lunch, participants are paired with experienced women leaders who encourage them to develop confidence, strengthen leadership skills, explore career opportunities, and prepare for life beyond graduation.
Upon completing the Women of Vision program, students become eligible to apply for scholarships that help support college, vocational training, or other post-secondary educational pursuits. More than financial assistance, these scholarships represent EWA’s continued investment in each young woman’s future.

What makes this organization unique?
For the past 20 years, EWA has empowered women throughout Montgomery County while investing in the next generation through mentorship, leadership development, community service, scholarships, and meaningful engagement. We support women at every stage of their personal and professional journey – from mentoring high school students and providing scholarships for higher education to fostering leadership growth and professional development for executive women. By connecting, inspiring, and equipping women across generations, EWA is building stronger leaders and a stronger community.
How can the community get involved, volunteer, and support this organization?
There are a number of ways to get involved or support EWA. We offer individual membership to women who are looking to get plugged in on a regular basis. We also have corporate and scholarship sponsorship levels for local organizations who are interested in a membership plus the added bonus of recognition throughout our program. In addition to membership, we need mentors at our Conroe and Oak Ridge Women of Vision Program. For the 2026-2027 school year, we will have approximately 90 young women in our program. Lastly, EWA accepts direct donations which support program supplies and/or lunches for the Women of Vision.
