Notice of pathway closures at Woodlands Parkway & Grogan’s Mill Road

By  |

The Woodlands Township advises residents that pathways near and through the intersection of Woodlands Parkway and Grogan’s Mill Road will be closed for several months due to ongoing improvements.

To facilitate construction, pathway closures and detours will be in place from April 2025 to December 2025. The pathways crossing Woodlands Parkway at Grogan’s Mill Road will be temporarily closed, with clearly marked detour routes available for pedestrians and cyclists.

The Woodlands Road Utility District (RUD) #1 is undertaking a major project to enhance roadways and pathways at this intersection. These improvements aim to enhance accessibility, safety, and aesthetics while commemorating The Woodlands 50th Anniversary with a donor-funded sculpture.

Architectural design for The Woodlands Parkway and Grogan’s Mill Intersection provided by LANDology, a Landscape Architecture, Planning, and Urban Design firm based in The Woodlands, Texas.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
This project features comprehensive intersection enhancements, including landscaping, infrastructure upgrades, lighting and public art to create a cohesive and visually appealing transformation. Over 400 additional trees will be planted, accompanied by an upgraded irrigation system and enhanced landscaping. Hardscape improvements include upgraded lighting, stone planter walls, and erosion remediation across eight acres, along with decorative concrete and masonry walls to refine the area’s aesthetic. Additionally, minor roadway modifications and improved drainage solutions will enhance traffic flow and stormwater management, contributing to overall safety and efficiency.
