Pet of the Month: Rocket

By  |

Hello Woodlands, in partnership with Operation Pets Alive (OPA), highlights a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.

For our Pet of the Month, we are excited to introduce you to Rocket!

Rocket’s Story

Cane, now known as Rocket, first became an Operation Pets Alive foster when he was just 5 weeks old in August 2021. As soon as he and his six brothers and sisters were ready for adoption, they were all adopted quickly! Sadly, his owners have decided the best thing for him would be to put him back into OPA’s foster program due to the lack of time they have to give him.

Right now, Rocket needs a foster (or an adopter) and wouldn’t it be amazing if he could find his forever home before his second birthday in July? He is young, full of energy and such a handsome boy! He would make a great pet for any family!

Rocket is 44 pounds, up-to-date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and thought to be a Dalmatian mix. He’s ready to go to a new home now! He is crate trained, rides well in the car, and once shown where the door is to go outside, he’s good to go!

If you would like to try fostering Rocket, even if just for a few weeks, please reach out to Sue Woody with OPA at sue@operationpetsalive.org. Fostering, even if for just a short time, can help OPA get better photos of him to share with the public. Foster parents that are able to take him to adoption events where he might meet his new family is also KEY!

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Rocket, submit an application on Operation Pets Alive’s website (no obligation to adopt) with his name (Rocket/Cane) and his ID D210507: https://operationpetsalive.org/programs/adopt.
