Pet of the Month: Sisters Boop & Buttons

By  |

Hello Woodlands, in partnership with Operation Pets Alive (OPA), highlights a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.

For our Pet of the Month, we are excited to feature two cats, bonded sisters Boop and Buttons!

Boop & Buttons’ Story

Boop and Buttons have been together their whole lives since being brought into the Operation Pets Alive foster program at 7-months-old. They have been kept up-to-date on vaccinations and been spayed. They also recently celebrated their second birthday in December!

They were previously adopted and lived with their new family for almost 6 months before being returned in early 2023, due to developed allergies by one of the family members. Their previous owners noted they were very affectionate, friendly and sociable.

Thankfully, Boop and Buttons were able to rejoin their previous foster family and have been enjoying life while waiting on their new forever home. Their foster mom has this to say about the two girls:

“Boop loves to play with all feather and ball toys, but her favorite is chasing a laser. She loves sitting at the window watching birds and squirrels. She’s curious and loves following you around. She enjoys naps in your lap and hanging with her sister, Buttons. She enjoys playing with water and she’ll sit next to you by the sink. When she slows down she is super affectionate and sits on your lap and purrs. Her coloring is unique – a light brown tabby with an orange ring around her neck. She is very exotic and has round dark spots on her sides.

“Sweet Buttons is so fun. She loves to play, loves her toys and is very affectionate. She enjoys time at the window watching birds and squirrels as well. She gets along well with other cats and loves to play with her bestie sibling, Boop. Buttons is a laid back girl that enjoys following you around, snuggling in your clothes, or sleeping next to you while working from home. She’s a best friend type of girl.”
