Rookies Ben Crane and Rory Sabbatini round out strong international field set for The Insperity
Two of the PGA TOUR Champions’ hottest rookies, Ben Crane and Rory Sabbatini, will round out the deep 78-man field featuring players from 17 countries that is now set for the 23rd edition of the Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare.
Crane, who turned 50 in March, was a winner five times on the PGA Tour throughout his career. He has two, top 10s in his five starts on the senior swing including a second-place finish at the Senior PGA Championship.
Sabattini, who celebrated his milestone birthday one month ago, will be looking for a breakthrough performance in his third start against many of the greatest names in the game. A six-time winner on the PGA Tour, Sabbatini also claimed the silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
“We’re excited to get the week underway, especially with the addition of two dynamic rookies in Ben Crane and Rory Sabbatini,” said Bryan Naugle, Executive Director, The Insperity. “They bring personality, experience, and a flair that perfectly complements the strength of this year’s field. It’s shaping up to be a fun, competitive week, and we can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.”
A total of 17 countries will be represented in this year’s field that boasts seven World Golf Hall of Famers including: Fred Couples (USA); Ernie Els (South Africa); Retief Goosen (South Africa); Padraig Harrington (Ireland); Bernhard Langer (Germany); Colin Montgomerie (Scotland) and Vijay Singh (Fiji).
The Insperity field also brings together 20 players who have won majors on the PGA TOUR. Defending champion, Stewart Cink, and sizzling hot rookie, Zach Johnson, are amongst a stellar list of major title holders that also includes: Darren Clarke (Northern Ireland), Americans John Daly, David Duval, Lee Janzen, Justin Leonard, Tom Lehman, Corey Pavin, and David Toms, along with Mike Weir (Canada) and Y.E. Yang (South Korea).
Other notable names from around the world of golf include: Angel Cabrera (Argentina); Stuart Appleby (Australia); Stephen Ames (Canada); Alex Cejka (Germany); Steven Alker (New Zealand); Miguel Angel Jimenez (Spain); Robert Karlsson (Sweden); Søren Kjeldsen (Denmark) and Thongchai Jaidee (Thailand).
“This is the greatest field ever assembled in the history of The Insperity,” said Naugle. “Our pairings sheets will feature 26 of the top 30 on the Charles Schwab Cup Money Standings, Hall of Famers, major winners, the best rookies and legends of the game.”

The Insperity Invitational is also bringing back 20 legends of the game on Saturday who are ready to put on a show for Houston area golf fans while playing behind the tournament in the Folds of Honor Greats of Golf.
Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Annika Sorenstam and Hale Irwin will be the featured group. They are bringing a handful of new World Golf Hall of Famers – Dame Laura Davies and Lanny Wadkins – with them for the 10th edition of the Folds of Honor Greats of Golf at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course.
Players will be grouped in teams of five. Each group will feature one of the greatest women’s golfers ever to play the game.

The exhibition will include four teams of five playing in a scramble format. Golf’s legendary lineup will tee off the 10th hole (approximately 2 p.m.) after the last group in the official PGA TOUR Champions competition makes the turn onto the back nine.
Saturday as an outward display of unity and an inward commitment to meeting sacrifice with hope for the families of America’s fallen or disabled military and first responders. An impactful opening ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. on the driving range that will include the Patriot Parachute Team flag jump, National Anthem and Presentation of Colors.

The Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare is widely regarded as one of the top events on PGA TOUR Champions. In 2026, The Insperity will transition to a fully ticketed event.
