Shelter to Shelter offers Home for Youth

By  |

The Woodlands, TX Did you know that many of the youth in our community are without a place to sleep? The Richmond Realty Group RE/MAX The Woodlands and Spring is hoping to change that with a new residential center next to the existing center on Frazier Road in Willis with proceeds from the fundraiser on May 10, 2018 6:30pm until 9:30pm at Mercedes Benz of The Woodlands.

“In 2016, MCYS or (SAY YES to YOUTH) turned away 1000 kids that needed shelter services”, stated Dannette Suding, Executive Director of Montgomery County Youth Services. “Not all youth 10-17 can stay at Bridgeway Youth Shelter since the shelter is often at capacity. Zach Richmond, of Richmond Realty, took action and began raising money to build awareness of the need for additional shelter space. We are grateful to Zach and Richmond Realty for helping us save the children we serve.”

This is not your average non-profit fundraiser. Each ticket can be purchased for $75 and includes food, entertainment, beverages, AND every donation will be matched by the Richmond Realty Group dollar for dollar. No additional asks will be made for auction items. All sponsorships will be recognized in alphabetical order (not value of sponsorship) in a Celebration Parade on the stage and given a medal for their participation. The event is about networking, learning about Montgomery County Youth Services, and increasing your relationships.

“We want the community to invest in our youth by saying YES to YOUTH”, said Board Member Zach Richmond. “The Richmond Realty Group RE/MAX The Woodlands and Spring will continue raising funds for the shelter after the event by contributing 25% of our commissions up to $25,000.”

In 2017 the Richmond Realty Group RE/MAX The Woodlands and Spring raised $25,000 in 2 months after the event in May and overall donated $50,000 to Montgomery County Youth Services (MCYS).
