Speakers and Events at the Home and Garden Show

Transform your house into a dream home or create the custom home of your dreams with the latest products and fresh ideas at the 16th Annual Spring Home and Garden Show The Woodlands. The Spring Home and Garden Show will be held at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott and Convention Center on Saturday, March 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Exhibitors and speakers will offer participants valuable information on home improvement, up to date trends in home décor and entertaining segments with education relevant to the Greater Montgomery County area. Home Improvement Experts and Speakers will be featured on the Home Ideas stage on both Saturday and Sunday where attendees can learn tips, ask questions, and meet the experts. Saturday, March 10 Schedule:

10:30 a.m. “Bullet Proof & Drought Tolerant Gardening!”  Randy Lemmon, Host of GardenLine of AM KTRH 740. Randy will walk you through a summer gardening plan with tips on the correct plants, products and techniques for the heat and sun ahead. He also discusses his new book Texas Tough Gardening.

11:30 a.m. “MULCH – The Secret Weapon of Successful Gardeners!”   John Ferguson, Organic Gardening Expert, Author and Owner of Nature’s Way Resources and Licensed Soil Scientist. The correct mulch can save hundreds or thousands of dollars in home and commercial projects. The right mulch discourages fire ants, keeps your plants and yard vibrant, requires less water and is healthier for pets and humans. John is a highly regarded expert in his field.

12:30 p.m. Spring/Summer Color and Product Trends” Presented by a Sherwin-Williams In-Home Color Consultant. Exciting information on trending colors, designer picked palettes, and top products for the season. Bring your color questions to the experts at Sherwin Williams!

1 p.m. “High Style: 8 Essential Elements of a Spectacular Home!”   Diane Cowen, Houston Chronicle Architecture + Design Writer

1:30 p.m. “The Latest Home Tech Trends Including Security, Automation, Lighting and More”   Michael Garfield, The High-Tech Texan. Houston’s High-Tech Texan informs on new Home Technology and Security Products and shares a few tips for on line security. Lots of Q&A!

2 p.m.  “The Essential Steps to Designing and Building Your Dream Home” Built Green Custom Homes Professionals, Bryson Janecek, Graduate Master Builder, Certified Green Professional (NAHB) and Tim Ellis, Professional Designer (23 years in designing in 3D), Texas Institute of Building Design (TIBD) and American Institute of Building Design (AIBD). Design Ideas BEFORE breaking ground – these are the MUST DO’s! Invaluable Information on Aging in Place, Energy Efficiency, Functionality and Construction Costs. Lots of information and Q&A from these building professionals.

2:30 p.m. “Gardening Tricks of the Trade”  Mark Bowen, Horticulturist, Garden Writer and General Manager of Nature’s Way Resources. Learn tricks of the trade like cost-saving tips and techniques for fertilizing and drainage (and drought) problems. Get a healthy garden or landscape and keep it that way!

3 p.m.  “Simple Solutions for an Efficient Home Office” Certified Professional Organizer, Ellen Delap. Is your home office the dumping ground when company is coming? Do you keep every piece of mail and paper because you don’t have a filing system? Would you like to be more efficient when you work at home instead of the office? There are simple solutions to these problems. You’ll leave with the steps to conquer your home office clutter!

All Day  “Got Color Questions? Ask Sherwin-Williams!”. Visit the Sherwin-Williams Color Snap booth (#204) where expert advice awaits from their Certified Color Consultants, using the new Sherwin-Williams Color Snap Color Selection System.

Event Information

Tickets are available at the door on the day of the event. Ticket prices are $10 for Adults,  $9 for Seniors, and age 12 and under are free. Receive $2 off per ticket by using the coupon below.

Non-profit organizations can contact the Spring Home and Garden Show and share the flier below to receive a $2 contribution to their cause.

Free Parking will be located in the Parking Garage behind the Convention Center next to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Six Pines and Lake Robbins. Parking at the Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center is not free.  If you park in the hotel garage, there is a charge, and Texwood Shows would be unable to reimburse you for the parking.
