Summer Art Camps: Beginning June 16
Registration is underway for 2026 Summer Art Camps at the Pearl!
Summer Art Camps will be held each week from June 16 through July 31. Camps meet Tuesday through Friday in all-day or half-day formats, for ages 5 to 8 and 9 to 13.
Each week of camp centers around a different theme, and families may register for all six weeks or select their favorites.
This summer’s weekly themes for 5 to 8-year-olds are:
- Color World
- Call of the Wild
- Masterpiece Remix
- Under the Sea Adventure
- Exploring 3D Creativity
- Passport to Adventure
Older students, ages 9 to 13, can choose from:
- Kinetic Canvas
- Animation Station
- Master Remix
- Hyper-Realism
- Graffiti Street Beats
- Splatter Studio
Students who register for all-day camp will conclude their week with a guest artist on Friday afternoon, such as children’s author and illustrator Steven Weinberg, or Tim Howell of LEGO Masters Season 4.
Campers will also spend time in the galleries of the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, exploring the summer exhibition, “Chromatica: A World in Color.” Surrounded by art of every color and style, campers will be inspired to head back to their studio classrooms and create their own masterpieces.
Register for summer camps at pearlmfa.org. Half-day camps are $180 per week, or $165 for Pearl members at the Family level. Full-day camps are $250 per week, or $235 for Family Members. To learn more about the many benefits of museum membership, visit pearlmfa.org/membership.
2026 Summer Exhibitions: Opening June 13
Summer at the Pearl is designed with families in mind, and this summer promises another exciting lineup of creative fun!
The Main Gallery will feature an original exhibition, “Chromatica: A World in Color,” with a vivid display of art in many forms. The gallery will be organized like a color wheel, with a wonderful array of art ranging from paintings, to textiles, to sculpture and more.
“Chromatica” explores the universal language of color, bringing together multiple artists and lending institutions from throughout Texas as well as Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arizona, Louisiana, Ohio, Virginia, and Mexico.
A Maker Space will bring hands-on fun to the exploration of color, with craft stations, a LEGO® build station, photo booth, sound and light panel, and more. The Maker Space is generously sponsored by AAUW North Harris County Branch, with additional support from the Houston Brick Club, as well as Bricks & Minifigs Spring.
In the Cole Gallery, artist Curtis Gannon will present, “Fragments, Remnants, and Remains.” Gannon’s collage imagery is grounded in a childhood love of comic books and animation. His studio practice begins with small collages that form the basis for drawings, paintings, and sculpture, recreating memories and feelings that reflect his experiences.
Summer exhibitions open Saturday, June 13 and continue through September 5, 2026. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free.
Be sure to include the Pearl in your summer plans!
