At The Church at Montgomery, members gathered on Saturday evening at the property that will soon be the church’s permanent home at the corner of Clepper and C.B. Stewart Drive. The ceremony included worship, a future-focused message and a celebration of how God is moving in Montgomery. “The Montgomery campus has been praying over this land and the surrounding community for years,” said Rev. Aaron Laird, Pastor of The Church at Montgomery. “Breaking ground here is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness and an exciting glimpse of the future ministry that will happen on this property.”

At The Church at Woodforest, the congregation gathered on Sunday morning for one combined worship service in their current space built in 2019 before stepping outside for a groundbreaking ceremony. The expansion project includes an enlarged worship space and a new education building with classrooms for children, students and adults — much-needed space for a growing community. Special guests included church member and State Rep. Will Metcalf.

“God has been moving in incredible ways in Woodforest, and we’ve seen tremendous growth,” said Rev. Brent Parker, Pastor of The Church at Woodforest. “This new chapter will allow us to make more room for worship, discipleship and ministry in our community.”

At both ceremonies, pastors, staff members and community leaders turned spades of dirt, symbolizing the start of construction and offering prayers of blessing for the churches and the lives that will be changed through their ministry.

“These groundbreakings are more than just construction projects,” said Rev. Mark Sorensen, Senior Pastor of The Woodlands Methodist Church. “They are a testimony to God’s faithfulness and to the generosity of our church family. Beyond is not about buildings — it’s about people. It’s about creating spaces where lives will be transformed by the gospel for generations to come.”
