THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Symphony Orchestra (WSO) returns to The Woodlands Pavilion April 30 with their wildly imaginative themed concert: Great Scot!

Woodlands Symphony Full Orchestra

The orchestra performs music reminiscent of Scottish folk tunes with Felix Mendelssohn’s Scottish Symphony followed by film scores from movies celebrating the rich history of Scotland such as Braveheart, Outlander, How to Train your Dragon, and Skyfall.

Continuing the WSO’s tradition of featuring guest conductors and soloist, the orchestra will be under the leadership of maestro Kirk Wilke for the program and trombonist Joel Brown will be featured performing the Blue Bells of Scotland. A grand finale is set to include the Woodlands Highlander Bagpipes lead by piper Craig Livingston.

The program with be held at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Event Center on Sunday April 30th starting at 6PM. Doors open at 5PM for general admission seating. Tickets are sold exclusively through Ticketmaster.com and prices are $35 for general admission or $55 for the VIP reserved section. The audience is encouraged to wear their best plaid skirts, kilts or even dress in cosplay from one of the movies in the orchestra’s playlist.
