‘Winter in The Woodlands’ Exhibition opens at TWAC Gallery
The Woodlands Arts Council (TWAC) is pleased to announce the opening of its newest exhibition, “Winter in The Woodlands,” a photography showcase featuring finalists from the community contest. The exhibition celebrates the creative vision of local photographers who captured and preserved the surprising winters with snow in The Woodlands. The show will be on display from November 4, 2025, through February 5, 2026, at the TWAC Gallery, with an opening reception on November 6, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
While snow is an uncommon sight in The Woodlands, the few winter storms over the past five years have left a lasting impression on residents and artists alike. Just a couple of snowy days can fill the community with joy and excitement, turning parks, pathways, and even streets into scenes of wonder that live beyond memory and are preserved in photographs capturing the serene beauty and essence of winter. From enchanting winter landscapes to beloved landmarks transformed by snow, these images reflect magical moments of nature that enhanced the spirit of the season in The Woodlands.
This exhibition invites visitors to pause and admire The Woodlands through the lenses of local photographers who interpret the moods, textures, and beauty of winter in the region. It provides an opportunity to showcase those who preserved the beauty of those exciting days in our community.

“Winter in The Woodlands” reflects TWAC’s mission to create a strong and vital arts presence in the area by highlighting the talent within our community. The show features the contest finalists, whose works were chosen for their unique ability to capture the moment. Finalists include Dulce Arelys Gomez Abraham, Kathleen Adey, Elena Agostini, Kayla Bachmeyer, Katherine Borey, Betty-Ann Brose, Jamar Carrington, Nancy Charbonneau, Dennis Chernov, Sakshi Chugh, Stacey Cox, Jeanine Garrett, Nathaniel Holt, Scott Kahney, Emery Oliphant, Julie Pelosi, Evelyn Reinhardt, Vance Schwantes, Zach Thoms, Gustavo von Zeska de Franca, Heather Wasaff, and Remington White.
Entries were juried anonymously, and selected finalists were invited to exhibit their works as part of this community showcase. Winners will be announced during the Opening Reception, and prizes will be awarded for every category: professional photographer, amateur photographer, college/high school student, and youth.

“We are delighted to present this collection of photographs that reflect both the beauty and the extraordinary nature of winter in The Woodlands,” said photographer and Montgomery resident Patti Gary, judge of the Winter in The Woodlands contest. An award-winning fine-art photographic artist known for her eclectic and authentic approach, Gary brings a discerning eye for emotion and detail to every image she reviews. “These images remind us that even brief moments of cold and quiet can reveal something extraordinary about our shared environment, connecting artistry with the beauty of truth found in nature.”
