LAST Day to Register to Vote in 2016 Election

October 11, 2016 is the deadline and LAST DAY to register to vote in Texas for the November 8, 2016 election!
No matter what “side” you are on, what candidate you are voting for or not voting for, are undecided, or just want to avoid this year’s race altogether, we ask that you register to vote. You are important and can make a difference both nationally and locally in the 2016 election.
The ballot not only includes presidential candidates, but also local positions that affect you, your family, and the community. Even if you choose to select a straight-party vote for all republican or democrat candidates, you still will need to go to the bottom of the ballot to make your selection for local candidates as well as vote on important issues in Montgomery County. Not sure if you are registered? Check your voter registration status to see if you are eligible to vote in the November 8, 2016 election here. You will only need your first name, last name, and birth date to discover if you are registered to vote in this election plus receive early voting information, poll location, current representatives, and other voting jurisdictions.
To be eligible to register in Texas, you must:
- be a U.S. citizen;
- be a resident of the county;
- be 18 years old (you may register at 17 years and 10 months);
- not a convicted felon (unless a person’s sentence is completed, including any probation or parole)
- not declared mentally incapacitated by a court of law
Note: You must be registered 30 days before an election in order for your registration to be effective for that election. You must be registered in, and a resident of, a jurisdiction to be eligible to vote in its election.
