UPDATE: Lake Conroe Open May 18 at 8:30am
UPDATE May 18, 2024 – The San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) and Montgomery County Constable Precinct 1 announce that Lake Conroe will reopen to normal lake traffic and activities at 8:30am on May 18, 2024.
Boaters are still urged to use extreme caution due to possible floating debris and submerged objects that may not be fully visible. With submerged bulkheads, lake area residents should also be cautious of electrical outlets and equipment coming into contact with water.
The level of Lake Conroe is currently 202.63 feet above mean sea level (msl). SJRA manages Lake Conroe water level any time the lake level exceeds 201 feet above msl. SJRA is currently releasing water from the Lake Conroe dam in accordance with its reservoir operating procedures to gradually lower the water level back to conservation pool of 201 feet above msl. SJRA and Montgomery County Constable Precinct 1 will continue to monitor lake conditions.

ORIGINAL May 7, 2024: The San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA) and Montgomery County Constable Precinct 1 announce that Lake Conroe will be temporarily closed at 5:00pm due to high lake levels, the possibility of submerged objects, floating debris, and other hazards that could pose safety risks.
Lake Conroe
Lake Conroe is currently at 202.86 feet (conservation pool is 201 feet). Current outflow from Lake Conroe is 10,875 cubic feet per second (cfs).
The dam continues to pass through storm water and runoff received in the Upper San Jacinto River Basin until Lake Conroe returns to conservation pool level.
Monitor real-time information on Lake Conroe at www.sjra.net. We will continue to monitor rain and runoff in the area. We are in coordination with the City of Houston, Coastal Water Authority, and Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
