CPChem celebrates new global Headquarters in The Woodlands with Ribbon Cutting
Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) marked the opening of its new 360,000 square foot global headquarters in The Woodlands with a ribbon cutting today.
The opening of the new headquarters coincides with CPChem’s 25th anniversary celebration.
“The opening of this building on our 25-year anniversary is particularly meaningful,” said CPChem President and CEO Steve Prusak. “For me personally, and for many of us who have been here since the company’s inception, this has been a journey marked by dedication, growth, collaboration and our unwavering commitment to our customers. This new headquarters is more than a building — it’s a symbol of our growth, our culture, and our commitment to the future.”
More than 400 employees, customers, suppliers and community members attended the ribbon cutting.
CPChem began construction on the six-story headquarters, located on 13 acres at 9500 Lakeside Blvd., in September 2023. Some 900 employees and contractors moved into the new building in May, bringing personnel from three offices across The Woodlands into a single location.
The new headquarters campus includes office space, a parking garage and outdoor recreational courts.
It was designed and constructed using the national Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards, the world’s most widely used green-building certification program. CPChem has applied for LEED certification for the building and expects to complete that process later this summer. Following LEED guidelines is expected to result in improved energy efficiency and water use compared to traditional construction methods.
CPChem also took steps to enhance outdoor spaces across the campus. The use of native plants will help promote local biodiversity, reduce water consumption and decrease the need for maintenance. The space also uses outdoor lighting fixtures designed to reduce light pollution.
