Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office apprehends Suspects in Organized Retail Theft Case
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has arrested one adult and four juveniles in connection with a large-scale retail theft operation involving multiple stores.
On August 2, 2025, deputies responded to a report of a theft in progress at the Academy store located at 1360 Lake Woodlands Drive. Upon arrival, they detained a total of five suspects: 26-year-old Talanda Champagne from Humble, TX, and four juveniles from both Houston and Humble. A search of their vehicle revealed a significant amount of stolen merchandise from various retailers.

Further investigation indicated that the recovered items, valued at nearly $7,000, had been stolen from multiple stores in The Woodlands area. All suspects were transported and charged with Felony Theft.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to protecting local businesses and will continue to actively work to prevent and investigate organized retail theft through proactive patrols and investigative efforts.
