Memorial Hermann’s In the Pink of Health announces new investments of more than $600,000 ahead of 26th Anniversary Luncheon

By  |

For 26 years, Memorial Hermann’s In the Pink of Health has stood as a beacon of hope for women facing breast and ovarian cancer across Montgomery County, and that commitment has never been stronger. Memorial Hermann In the Pink of Health is a group of inspired women who change lives by raising funds to reduce the incidence of breast and ovarian cancer, and to assist survivors in their journeys. Through these efforts over more than two decades, more than $9.7 million has been invested in life-changing community programs, including the latest event proceeds which yielded $600,000 to be distributed to vital local partners, bringing that mission to life in profound and tangible ways.

Since its founding, In the Pink of Health has tirelessly raised funds throughout the year, with efforts culminating in its beloved annual luncheon. Every dollar raised goes directly toward changing lives — reducing the incidence of breast and ovarian cancer and providing compassionate support to survivors navigating their journey toward healing.

Following the event, dedicated In the Pink volunteer leadership alongside key executive staff from Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center carefully review proposals to support the organization’s core mission. The proceeds from the 2025 luncheon will support five key programs in the Montgomery County area:

  • Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center located on the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands campus, operates solely from philanthropic support. The event continues to ensure its transformative programs for cancer patients and their families remain completely free of charge — from wigs and breast prostheses to a full spectrum of resources that restore dignity and confidence to those in treatment.
  • The Interfaith Community Clinic continues to supercharge outreach efforts connecting uninsured and underinsured patients with no-cost mammograms, and screenings at theMelissa Preston Breast Care Center at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center.
  • The Melissa Preston Breast Care Center at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands will benefit from the purchase of cutting-edge software to implement Contrast Enhanced Mammography, a significant technological leap that enhances early detection capabilities and represents a direct, measurable impact in the fight against breast cancer.
  • The Rose will expand its critical work providing breast screenings, diagnostics, and cancer treatment to women throughout Montgomery County who might otherwise go without care.
  • Ovarcome will deepen its mission to raise ovarian cancer awareness and deliver meaningful financial support to patients in Montgomery County facing this often-overlooked disease.

“One of the things that sets us apart from other organizations is that we don’t take out administrative costs from the funds we raise — they are fully underwritten by the hospital,” said Linda Nelson, Director of Business Development at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center and Director of Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center. “We are immensely proud to share that this year’s proceeds bring the total invested in programs and services in our community to more than $9.7 million, helping real people fight cancer right here in our community.”

The countdown to October 2nd has already begun. Co-chairs Jamie Bolt and Nicole Preston are leading the charge on what promises to be an unforgettable 26th annual celebration.

“As co-chair, I am absolutely thrilled to see how the funds we worked so hard to raise are being reinvested to power this mission,” said Nicole Preston. “We are deeply grateful to every sponsor and supporter who has made this extraordinary work possible for 26 remarkable years.”

“Entering my second year as co-chair, I’m energized knowing exactly where our fundraising dollars are making a difference,” said Jamie Bolt. “Seeing that our efforts have helped bring breakthrough technology like Contrast Enhanced Mammography to our community is a direct testament to the real, lasting impact we are making in the fight against breast and ovarian cancer — and that is profoundly rewarding.”
