Angel Reach’s “Bites for a Better Future” Breakfast raises awareness and funds for Kinship Advocacy and Transitional Living Programs
This morning on March 26, Angel Reach held the “Bites for a Better Future” Breakfast, generously hosted by Truluck’s at Hughes Landing in The Woodlands. Supporters, board members, staff, and members of the community enjoyed a delicious breakfast while learning about Angel Reach and their programs serving area Kinship families and at-risk youth facing homelessness.

Executive Director of Angel Reach Dan Alexander shared a message on the sobering reality of foster system and how Angel Reach is there to help with their Kinship Advocacy Program and Transitional Living Program, or TLP. The TLP supports kids that are homeless and age out of foster care system at 18 with safe housing and much needed support at the Angel Reach Village in Conroe.
Dan shared that Angel Reach is not a hand out but instead they are a program, a hand up. Since its founding in 2024, Angel Reach has been standing in the gap by providing these programs. Their goal is to coach, counsel, advocate and train clients towards a firm foundation that they can stand on, so that they can live their own productive and meaningful lives.
Jeremy, a graduate of the Angel Reach program, shared his story at the event. He was a foster child who was excitedly accepted into college, but then faced homeless and was living out of car after he aged out of the foster care program. Jeremy now has an undergraduate degree, has been working as a case manager, recently got engaged, and now about to get his masters to obtain a LPC.
Angel Reach needs our advocacy and support. Did you know, 66% of kids that age out (which happens on their 18th birthday) of the foster care system become homeless, incarcerated or dead by 19? But Angel Reach doesn’t allow a statistic to restrict or define them – it empowers and motivates the organization to look out the numbers and help every foster care kid that needs help. Because they are not numbers, they are our friends, members of our community, and souls that deserve a chance.
