Boo Weekley joins Local Media and Corporate Leaders for Insperity Invitational’s Shootout in The Woodlands

On Tuesday, April 2, Insperity Invitational hosted the Media and Sponsor Day Luncheon including a conversation with PGA TOUR Champions professional, Boo Weekley, and Media Shootout at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course that donated $20,000 to five charity partners.

Many of Houston’s media personalities competed head-to-head for $20,000 while representing one of the Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare’s five charities at the Shootout in The Woodlands. The annual event was held in conjunction with the Insperity Invitational’s Sponsor and Media Day, April 2 at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course.

Before the Shootout, Insperity Invitational hosted a lunch featuring a fireside chat with PGA TOUR Champions professional, Boo Weekley.

The Media Shootout for Charity Golf event consisted of 12 media from Southern Texas who participated in a closest to the pin shootout with $20,000 up for grabs for charity. Each media representative played for one of the Tournament’s Charitable partners: Interfaith of The Woodlands; Inspiration Ranch; Montgomery County Yes to Youth; Be An Angel; and Southern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation.

The 12-person match play bracket once again consisted of three rounds on the 18th hole of The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course with each media representative taking one shot. Closest to the hole advanced to the next round.

Boo Weekley teed up the event. The PGA TOUR Champions star will make his first trip to The Woodlands for the Insperity Invitational, April 29 – May 5, since turning 50 last July.

A three-time winner on the PGA TOUR, Weekley is one of the most genuine personalities in professional golf. Often sporting camo-golf clothes, Weekley is sure to fit right in at the award-winning event in southern Texas with the spectators – many of whom share his passion for fishing, hunting and seeking birdies on the golf course.
