Carman & Melton Raise Over 114K for Local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Jim Carman, Vice President, Master Planned Communities, Commercial Development, and Heath Melton, Vice President, Master Planned Communities, Residential, both with The Howard Hughes Corporation, have raised $114,620 to date for the Montgomery County Light the Night Walk, benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).
“It is with our sincerest gratitude that we applaud the efforts of The Howard Hughes Corporation and The Woodlands® Development Company. As our 2017 Top Corporate fundraising team, Carman and Melton are helping to light the path towards curing cancer. Thank you to Jim Carman for your tremendous leadership on our Executive Committee, and to both Jim and Heath for their investment in our mission,” said Breanna Challicombe, Senior Campaign Manager for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to help find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma while helping to improve the quality of life of patients and families.
Carman serves on the 2017 Montgomery County Executive Leadership Committee for LLS, and both Carman and Melton agreed to take the Executive Challenge, which set the goal at raising $5,000 or more in funds for the Light the Night Walk.
“There are so many people in our families, our company, and our community who have been impacted by cancer. Heath and I knew that our HHC Team would get behind us to help LLS in the fight to cure blood cancers,” said Jim Carman. “We would also like to thank our business partners who supported our efforts.”
The two HHC executives united local offices from The Woodlands and Bridgeland® to raise funds and participate in the walk. The contributions raised made The Howard Hughes Corporation the #1 Corporate Team in Montgomery County, and currently #17 in the entire Nation. Also, Carman and Melton were listed among the Top 10 National Leaders with all Executive Challengers for LLS.
“We are proud to have been able to raise over $114,000 for such a worthwhile organization as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and inspired by seeing our team pull together to make such an impact,” stated Jim Carman.
